"Sustainable Traveling": A Bosch Home Comfort Group Initiative for Sustainable Mobility

One component of the Bosch Home Comfort Group's sustainability strategy is the reduction of CO2 emissions. A current initiative from Tranås demonstrates that its own employees can also be involved in this process. The Tranås site in Sweden has set itself the ambitious goal of drastically reducing CO2 emissions caused by travel. A key aspect of this commitment is the "Sustainable Traveling" concept.

E-Bikes and Job Bus

Whether on the way to work, home, or on business trips – CO2 emissions are generated everywhere, which have a negative impact on the climate. The Swedish site of the Bosch Home Comfort Group has therefore launched a project to promote the use of environmentally friendly means of transport. Whether for the daily commute, for business meetings, or for long-distance business trips, it is worthwhile to make employee mobility more environmentally friendly with various sustainable solutions. For the daily commute to and from work, the company provides, among other things, company-owned e-bikes. These are equipped for year-round use and are available to employees free of charge, allowing them to travel quickly and environmentally friendly within the city limits. In addition, the site, in collaboration with local companies and the city, has set up a free "Job Bus" that supplements the public transport network at set times in the morning and afternoon, providing employees with a convenient and low-emission commute to and from work.

Electric cars, trains, and intelligent business travel planning

The Bosch Home Comfort Group site in Tranås is also committed to sustainability for longer distances. For example, the company's company cars are being gradually replaced with fully electric vehicles that can be charged directly on site, further reducing dependence on fossil fuels. For longer business trips to more distant destinations, the revised travel guidelines place particular emphasis on reducing CO2 emissions. For example, flights, especially within Scandinavia, are to be avoided and replaced by rail travel. For necessary flights, non-stop flights are preferred. These reduce CO2 emissions compared to flights with stopovers. Furthermore, a central meeting point for international meetings is favored to reduce the total number of travel kilometers and the associated emissions.

The "Sustainable Traveling" initiative is another good example of how the Bosch Home Comfort Group locations are actively seeking solutions to reduce CO2 emissions, operate more sustainably overall, and demonstrate ways to reduce the company's ecological footprint. At the same time, the company aims to strengthen employees' awareness and commitment to sustainability. To promote this, the company offers internal platforms for sharing experiences and tips to foster a collaborative and informed mobility and travel culture that ultimately contributes to a more sustainable future.
